Boca Grande Fishing Report – Mar 29 - April 4, 2026
What’s Biting in Boca Grande This Week
(Including a 38” Redfish
)
Fishing this week has been on fire, and it’s only getting better. The water is warming up, bait is starting to show back up, and the fish are definitely hungry after that stretch of cold weather.
We’ve been catching a little bit of everything—snook, redfish, trout, jacks, snapper, sharks, and even some tarpon starting to show up. It’s one of those times of year where things are really starting to come alive again.
Inshore Bite
- Target Species: Snook, Redfish, Trout
- What’s Working: Greenbacks (whitebait)
- Where (General): Mangroves and docks
Snook have been feeding hard in the mangroves, especially around cuts and deeper pockets. Redfish are right there with them, and we’ve had some days pushing 10+ redfish, which has been a blast for clients.
Trout have been all over the flats in about 2–4 feet of water, making for steady action.
💡 Tip:
Get out early and spend a little time finding bait—it’s making all the difference right now.
Fishing from Shore
The inshore bite has been so strong that shore anglers should also be seeing some solid action, especially around structure like docks, bridges, and access points.
💡 Tip:
Focus on early morning hours and areas with moving water for your best shot at success.
Nearshore (Weather Permitting)
Nearshore opportunities are starting to open up as conditions improve, and we expect this bite to continue picking up with the warming water.
💡 Tip:
Keep an eye on conditions and bait activity—things are only getting better from here.
Captain Steve's Tip of the Week
“The water warming up has everything feeding again—find the bait, and you’ll find the fish.”
Highlight of the Week
This week’s standout catch was a 38-inch redfish, along with two more over 30 inches—some really solid fish hitting the deck.
Thinking about getting out on the water?
If you’ve been waiting for the right time to fish… this is it.
The bite is heating up fast, and we’ve been consistently putting clients on fish.
